True is a specialist retail private equity firm that really doesn’t like the term ‘private equity’. A qualified B Corp, their approach is to build businesses better — putting people and planet before profit.
As part of Friendly Giant’s ongoing relationship with True, we began to create content in the moving image space, and this was something that I continued to be apart of, lending my skills in editing and motion design.
International Women's Day
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2022 True hosted a gathering of influential women in it’s network, with the theme of #BreakTheBias. As part of this we were tasked to create an ambient video that could run throughout the evening, with quotes from each of the attendees. This is a project I undertook myself and the resulting outcome was a 15+ minute reel. Using True’s brand shapes and diverse palette I was able to break the video into smaller sections to avoid any one screen looking identical, while still feeling cohesive. Brand footage was also stitched in between some founders to further break it up and create visual interest.
Founder Films
For True’s social media and new website, we created a series of ‘Founder Films’ that interviewed founders and staff in the True network, talking about True’s restated mission and its unique approach to business. As part of this project I was involved in creating a series of light weight lower thirds and other graphics, that spanned the four films. When it came to rolling these out I also created a series of social media crops and cut downs, that are all fully subtitled.
